One Meter Stance - Canada

One Meter Stance was a skatepunk band drom Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec, Canada.

Biography[]

Somewhere around 1996, 3 guys from Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean decide to start a skatepunk band in the vein of the other bands that they were admiring the most : Brain Püker, Son Of A Beat, Choke, etc. In the spring of 1997, the band record an album but for some reasons this one will never be released. This is in the winter of 1998 that they record a demo that will finally be produced and sold. The demo is entitled Unlucky. One of the songs, Young Boyg will also appear on the first compilation on Punx Without Mohawx which is entitled Are You Punk Enough ? One Meter Stance will later play many shows with other local bands like Son Of A Beat, Brain Püker, From Grass To Cheese, Try Again, Homer, etc. In spring of 1999 OMS take part of the Board Fest II, a tour across Quebec with Choke, Trigger Happy and many other bands in the same style. The summer come and the guys spend most of it writing songs for a next album that will never be done, as the band are unable to get a drummer. The band disband a few years later.
